Fox Git Docs
The docs follow real Git workflows. Start with Getting started to open your first repository, then dive into each workbench as needed. Fox Git is in developer preview, and these docs only describe what already works; anything unfinished is clearly marked "coming soon" and tracked on the roadmap.
Get started
- Getting started: requirements, opening / cloning / initializing a repository, and the workbench layout.
- Licensing and activation: purchase, claiming a key, device allowance, and license status.
Workbench
- Changes and commits: the four change groups, hunk and line staging, discarding, amend, and stashes.
- History and graph: the commit graph, search and filters, context-menu actions, and drag and drop.
- File view and blame: read-only preview, inline blame, the blame gutter, file history, and range history.
- Conflict resolution: the three-way workbench, hunk-by-hunk choices, marking resolved, and continuing.
- Remote sync: fetch, pull, push, publishing branches, Force Push with Lease, and credential prompts.
- Shortcuts and Quick Switcher: global shortcuts, single-key Git actions, and unified search.
More
- Roadmap: what is done and what is coming.
- Local data and security: what stays on your machine and what is sent where.
- Troubleshooting: common Git version, authentication, conflict, and license issues.
